Repair Your Smile with Custom Restorative Dentistry
Like most people, you may find yourself in need of restorative dentistry at some point in your life. That’s when you turn to the skill, care, and technology provided by Dr. Steven Huffstutler and our team. As the name implies, restorative dentistry seeks to “restore” your teeth to a high level of beauty and performance. Whether you find yourself in need of a small filling or a dental implant, Dr. Huffstutler believes that all restorative treatments should accomplish four goals:
- Improve the health of your mouth. The human mouth is a complex system of parts working together. If an oral disease such as gum disease or tooth decay compromises the integrity of a single tooth or one area of gum tissue, treating that problem and returning the mouth to an optimal level of health is the goal.
- Improve how your teeth function. Teeth that hurt, that have structural damage, or that are missing make it difficult to perform basic tasks, such as eating and speaking. Restorative dentistry uses state-of-the-art materials and techniques to restore your teeth to their full function.
- Improve the appearance of your smile. Damaged and decayed teeth don’t look good, but neither do artificial-looking restorations. Dr. Huffstutler uses only the highest quality restorative materials, and partners only with trusted dental labs, to create durable, true-to-life restorations.
- Improve the fit of your restorations. We believe all restorations should have a comfortable fit and improve your quality of life. Our approach to high-end dentistry involves the use of bite-balancing and adhesive dentistry to ensure natural looking and proper fitting restorations.
Paying for Restorative Dentistry
At our practice, we provide two tiers of dental care. Our everyday dentistry, including porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) crowns, or metal fillings and crowns, is typically priced the same as your dental insurance fee table, which requires efficiency at a minimal cost. However, our high-end all-ceramic restorations are not covered under any dental insurance fee table due to the cost of the time and materials used. Dr. Huffstutler will decide which restorations will best address your smile goals, but our more lifelike restorations will not be covered under insurance fee tables like metal or PFM restorations are.
