The history of aviation is fascinating especially to those of you who love flight. To think that human beings invented a way to fly like birds around the world. To think that in the U.S. over 87,000 flights are traveling the skies every day. To think that just at Dallas-Forth-Worth International Airport (DFW) alone there are 1, 750 flights per day. Have you ever seen an airliner hover above you as your traveling down the highway? Titillating. If you’re thrilled with such facts you may enjoy the American Airlines C.R. Smith Museum.

About
President of American Airlines from 1934 until 1968, Cyrus Rowlett Smith, transformed American Airlines from a small, unremunerative airline carrier to the largest in the world. For 34 years C.R. Smith was a major force in shaping the entire airline industry. The American Airline Museum is over 35, 000 square feet delineating the history of American Airlines via historical artifacts, photographs, interactive exhibits, full-scale aircraft engines, and the ‘must-see’ Douglas DC-3 airliner, the 1940s craft that revolutionized commercial air travel. The museum includes a 4K digital theater featuring the film Pursuit of Flight which covers the physics and history of aviation from ancient to modern times.
