The Fort Worth Rodeo Offers True Texas Fun

RodeoWe are incredibly proud of our Texas heritage, and we love that the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is just a short drive from our practice. Make plans now to attend the event, running January 16 through February 7. The rodeo is suitable for all ages, and it has something to meet all tastes. Whether you love animals, entertaining shows, or just strolling the streets and window shopping, you may have to come back to the Stockyards for several days to take part in all the fun.

Fun and Games

The festival takes place all month, and activities vary each day. The events really get into full swing at the All Western Parade, beginning at 11 am on January 17. To keep in the spirit of the Wild West, absolutely no motor vehicles are allowed. Instead, feast your eyes on horses and wagons, decked to the nines.

Various other events throughout the festival include:

  • Horse shows
  • Goat shows
  • Pigeon show
  • Cowboy church
  • Bull riding
  • Miniature horse classes
  • Carnival and midway
  • And more

If you want to take in as many sights and sounds as possible, you may love Pawnee Bill’s Wild West Show. The entire production is a recreation the historical show, performed in Cowtown Coliseum in 1909. Adult general admission tickets are $15, and children’s tickets are $8. The show runs January 29 through February 3, so make plans to attend now.

The Championship Rodeo

Of course, if you want a true rodeo, Fort Worth will never disappoint. You can watch all the bull riding, cow roping, barrel racing, and bucko broncing your heart desires every Friday and Saturday night at 8:00. Kids can even take part in a safe way with the hilarious calf and mutton scrambles. This event takes place at the Cowboy Coliseum year-round, although it is particularly festive this time of year with all of the other activities going on. Adult General Admission is $17.50 and children’s tickets are $10.

You could also attend the Professional Bull Riders Cowtown Classic. This once-a-year event features the wildest, wooliest bulls and the bravest cowboys and cowgirls. Tension runs high as the greatest bull riders face off all day January 16 and 17. Tickets for this event cost $33.50 for adults and $13.50 for kids.
