Prepare for the Polar Plunge!

Polar BearAlthough we’ve just started to enjoy some warmer days here in North Texas, it’s not exactly warm enough for swimming. That is, it’s not warm enough for most people. However, if you want to brave the elements and raise some money for a great cause, this Saturday, January 24 is a good time to take a quick dip in the pool. Raise donations from family and friends to participate in the 2015 Polar Plunge at NRH2o. All proceeds go to benefit the Special Olympics of Texas.

Donations and Incentives

In order to participate in the Polar Plunge and to earn your cool rewards, you must raise a minimum donation from family, friends, and anyone who supports equal opportunities for special needs athletes. Youth under 18 must raise a minimum $30 donation. In exchange, they will receive a chance to plunge, as well as a long sleeved t-shirt. Adults must raise a minimum $60 donation. In addition to the incentives mentioned above, they will also receive a free one-day NRH2o pass, good for any day of the 2015 season. Of course, with such a great cause to support, you may want to raise more. Additional incentive prizes include baseball caps, beach towels, and duffle bags. Since the plunge is this weekend, raising more may be a challenge, but why not go for the gold?

Registration opens at 8:30, and the plunge begins at 10. Costumes are strongly encouraged! There will also be prizes for the person who raises the most donations, the team that raises the most donations, and the best costume.
